The Child Care Center in Norwich has undergone a transformation! We have just shifted to a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach. Reggio values relationships above all else, along with the ?hundred languages of children,? the endless creative ways children interpret and express themselves in the world. We are recruiting one additional teacher to join a PreK team in a full-time position. You? You have prior experience and are passionate about early childhood education: this is your chosen profession. You have a creative bent, love of learning, and are keen on collaborating and reflecting with colleagues on a daily basis. We are looking for a go-getter, an educator motivated to contribute to something new and profound for children and families. You?ll join a Core team in a PreK classroom and get well oriented to children, routines, classroom culture and Reggio-inspired approaches. We can't wait to welcome you!
Duties
Join a teacher team to lead a classroom of PreK children. Take children on explorations on our beautiful wooded property, engage with science educators from our next-door neighbor the Montshire Museum of Science, collaborate with our atelierista (art teacher) who oversees our new art studio, facilitate a Reggio-inspired program propelled by students' curiosity and interests that is co-constructed by teachers and children. Reflect with colleagues on children's thinking and learning to plan next steps and create thought-provoking documentation to be shared with parents, colleagues and students themselves.
Requirements
Early childhood education is your chosen profession. You adore working with young children and reflecting with colleagues on all aspects of their learning and development. You have a creative bent, love of professional learning, and dedication to working collaboratively with staff throughout our school house. We seek go-getters, educators raring to contribute to something new and extraordinary for children, and their parents too. We require a college degree and at least one year of teaching experience in some venue. We can't wait to welcome you!
Nice To Haves
Prior teaching experience preferred (not required) in the Reggio Emilia approach. We will orient and train you in Reggio-inspired practices.
