The DeLallo Company is looking for a Transportation & Fleet Administrative Support Person.
Full-Time Position: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM
The successful individual in this administrative support role will interface with other key departments, including but not limited to Customer Service, Operations, Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse/Shipping.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and execution of transportation technology programs and initiatives (S2K, data warehouse, Asset Tracking Management, TMS, etc.)
- Support the implementation and execution of fleet safety program and initiatives, including oversight, monitoring & reporting of all fleet safety activities, equipment maintenance and DOT compliance.
- Communicate and collaborate with intercompany departments, third-party logistics and third-party fleet maintenance vendors.
- Participate in monthly Safety Committee meetings.
- Participate in monthly OSD Committee meetings (Over, Short, & Damage Exceptions).
- Provide primary backup for fleet dispatch, outbound load planning, and intermodal / container operations.
- Report exceptions, issues and KPIs to the Director of Transportation.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure DOT maintenance and accurate documentation of fleet on-road equipment (tractors, trailers, trucks, cargo vans, etc.) to ensure DOT compliance and safety.
- Support dispatch, drivers & safety administrator to ensure DOT compliance and continuous improvement of the exemplary safety and training programs.
- Report equipment repair & maintenance costs including internal shop, third-party and fuel vendors.
- Coordinate inbound freight shipments from vendors.
- Assist Director of Transportation with establishing carrier scorecard and KPIs, contract and rate negotiations and carrier selection for Intermodal, FTL and LTL shipments
- Track and report expected vs actual freight costs from third-party logistics, including invoice review.
- Notify, report, and track freight claims via OSD application.
- Other duties as determined by the Director of Transportation and/or Executive Management
Required Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to learn and utilize DeLallo proprietary software.
- DOT knowledge and/or knowledge of transportation safety, regulations, and standards, knowledge of freight logistics preferred, but not required.
