About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join the Qatar Airways Group Medical Department as Company Pharmacist. The role is responsible for day to day running of The Medical Centre pharmacy and pharmaceutical stock, and for Qatar Airways Medical Kits daily operation, ensuring the chain of custody of Medical Kits from pharmacy to aircrafts is maintained.
Your duties would include:
- Responsible for The Medical Centre Pharmacy dispensary ensuring good pharmacy practice.
- Responsible to manage and oversee Pharmacy Technicians daily tasks/operation of receiving, packing, refilling and certifying the Medical Kits and to develop any required changes to standard operating procedures or work instructions to ensure good quality operation in a timely manner.
- Responsible for Pharmacy Technicians compliance with Qatari Law and the regulations of Pharmacy and Drug Control Authority during the shift working hours.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate database of stocked pharmaceuticals ensuring pharmaceuticals inside Medical Kits can be tracked or recalled if required.
- Responsible for generating unique barcode for pharmaceuticals and Medical Kits ensuring zero duplication and correct information.
- Co-ordinate with suppliers to check pharmaceuticals availability in the market and initiate all requests through Qatar Airways e-sourcing and Oracle portal.
- Responsible to pack, refill Psychotropic and Narcotic substances inside Emergency Medical Kits (EMK), issuing EMK conformity certificates and ensure EMKs are securely stowed and handed over to Supply Chain.
- Responsible to hand-over and receive Emergency Medical Kits, confirm psychotropic and Narcotic substances remaining quantity and ensure the consumption documents enclosed, and raise any discrepancy to Manager pharmaceutical program.
- Responsible for keeping Drug registry log-books accurate records and up to date, and to retain any documents required by Pharmacy and Drug Control Authority.
- Develop hard copy reports returned in the medical kits as per The Ministry of Public Health instructions.
- Establish and maintain the Medical kits policies, procedures and Work instructions on AeroDocs as required for operation.
- Accountable to Pharmacy and Drug Control for handling Psychotropic and Narcotic substances as per personal acquired license and to maintain an accurate records/documents accordingly.
- Perform planned stock/inventory checks, ensure good condition of stocked pharmaceuticals, make inquiries about stock discrepancies, correct discrepancies that only occurred from data entry or dispensing error and report other discrepancies to Manager Pharmaceutical program.
- Performs shift duties as assigned, including weekends and public holidays
- Participate in staff meetings, as assigned
- Manage the Pharmacy Technician daily tasks/operation of receiving, packing, refilling and certifying the Medical Kits, and to develop any required changes to standard operating procedures or work instructions to ensure timely efficient operation, enhance quality and minimize error.
- Manage the pharmacy Technicians monthly and daily shifts to ensure smooth operation.
- Ensure Pharmacy Technicians compliance with The National CME/CPD accreditation program to maintain their license validity.

Qualifications
We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join our Group Medical team. The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level with minimum 5 years relevant experience.
- Able to hold pharmacist license to practice in Qatar.
- Must have passed Qatar Council for Healthcare practitioner evaluation process successfully.
- Hold valid Pharmacist license to practice in Qatar
- Working experience managing Pharmaceutical stock in pharmacy or drug store is required.
- Previous experience dealing with wholesale suppliers.
- Experience handling Psychotropic and Narcotic substances in Qatar.
- Previous experience as part of a large corporate organization.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to details is a key skill for the role
- Computer literacy with knowledge on various stock management software.
