About the Team:
The HR operations team, endeavors to continuously build and deliver a seamless and positive employee experience across the whole employee lifecycle. We are dedicated to leading with care and have empathy in mind. We strive to develop efficient and simple people processes, systems, policies, and programs. As a Benefits Specialist at TikTok, you will be supporting various employee benefits, including but not limited to Leave of Absence (LOA), healthcare benefits, and 401(k) retirement plan. The ideal candidate should have strong experience and knowledge in leave management, benefits operation and applicable compliance requirements per different types of plans, along with benefits vendor management and system optimization experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the owner of US and Canada LOA Operation processes and employee experience. Design, implement, and continuously improve processes and experiences for US and Canada leave and disability programs. Continuously evaluate and improve existing programs, and deliver short-term and long-term optimizations;
  • Build, streamline, and implement systems, processes, and tools for company LOA programs. Serve as Project Manager for LOA program changes and ensure timely and high-quality implementation. And create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Aids to provide instructions for the current/updated benefits operations-related tasks;
  • Manage leave programs, vendors, and policies following the applicable federal, state and local laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.) and ensure compliance with company policies;
  • Serve as Leave and Disability Subject Matter Expert (SME). Partner closely with vendors, HRBPs and Business, Employee Relations, and Legal to resolve issues regarding complex leave and disability cases, manage escalated cases and provide proactive solutions to business;
  • Ensure efficient support of the operational, day-to-day HR transactions related to LOA policies and procedures. Create and update internal wiki and communications to ensure company compliance and streamline employee experience;
  • Conduct the periodical audits to ensure the data integrity across platforms (HRIS, Benefits Admin system, and other vendor platforms);
  • Develop, generate, and present reports for analysis and trending; offer insights and recommendations. Work with key stakeholders to improve processes and procedures;
  • Manage Workers Compensation claims.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or above with 5+ years of Benefits Operations related experience;
  • Hands on experience in Leave of Absence (LOA) and benefits administration in a high-volume environment;
  • Experience in Workday, ADP, AbsenceOne, or other benefits administration/Leave system is highly preferred;
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment, multi-tasking, and meet deadlines;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, humility, flexibility, and good interpersonal and customer-facing skills;
  • Great verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
