IGCP was formed in 1991 to address the long-term conservation of the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) and its regional afromontane forest habitat in the Virunga Bwindi Landscape. Our aim has been to work together as a single gorilla conservation program in order to expand and consolidate the successes of the Mountain Gorilla Project and other initiatives at a regional level.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and reconcile the tax ledgers on the URA portal.
  • Maintain transfer pricing documentation.
  • Liaise with tax consultants during annual tax health checks.
  • Engage URA to resolve pending tax matters, maintain a file of URA correspondences, and knowledge of WHT vs VAT on imported services and VAT vs. Income Tax.
  • Review and reconcile tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Analyze financial statements and reports to identify tax implications and opportunities for tax savings.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to support the completion of tax audits and inquiries.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial performance.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations, and assess their impact on the company’s tax position.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections for tax planning purposes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure tax compliance and alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on tax-related matters, including transaction structuring and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

Qualification and More Skill:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • At least two years’ experience as a Tax Consultant in a big Audit firm, or 4 years’ experience at a mid-tier audit firm.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and financial management systems; experience with SAP or Oracle is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify tax implications.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate complex tax concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Experience with international tax issues and transfer pricing is desirable but not required.
