Job Purpose: dnata is one of the world's largest air services providers offering ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services across five continents with edge cutting facilities, focus on innovations, efficiency and sustainability.

As Baggage Service Agent you will perform baggage related activities at DWC in line with dnata safety and operational standards, ensuring optimum service quality to our customers.

Generic Accountabilities

  • Ensures safety of staff by providing support, direction and equal workload distribution whilst being a role model for the desired safety behaviours and leading with safety.
  • Conducts safety briefings regularly at the beginning of the shift.
  • Organizes all work in area of accountability on the day of operations to ensure that work is completed efficiently and in compliance with procedures and service standards
  • Ensures Outsource teams are fully aware of their responsibilities on the day of operations, and what is expected of them in line with SLAs
  • Intervenes and takes immediate action when there is risk exposure, role models safe behaviours and follows up on corrective actions.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Escalates issues to the Supervisor on shift when relevant to ensure that proper corrective measures are followed up on.
  • Assists in manual handling activities when required.
  • Briefs his team, ensuring that they are fully aware of their responsibilities and provides performance feedback.
  • Provides all necessary and required baggage sortation services and ensures all baggage handling activities are completed within the time required for operations on shift.
  • Efficiently handles all arrival & transfer baggage units and ensures offloading activities are completed on time.
  • Assists in departure handling activities to ensure smooth processing of departure bags.
  • Ensures implementation of work instructions on the day of operations and compliance to established standard operating procedures.
  • Ensures smooth running and serviceability of the relevant support systems and/or equipment, and takes necessary steps in case of failure or breakdown.
  • Maintains appropriate records and documentation for the shift in the assigned area.

Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the below requirements:

  • High School with a Certificate
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in business administration / aviation / ground handling / customer service
  • UAE Driving license or Home Country Driving License
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English
