JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose Statement: To support the building of a strong, reputable and trusted “brand” that positions NCBA Uganda as a leading digital first, innovative bank amongst our target market. The Creative and Digital Marketing Officer will be responsible for creating visually impactful designs for a variety of mediums including digital platforms, print and other promotional items as well as helping the Bank execute its digital communications strategy in line with the defined growth objectives of the organization. The role holder is expected to have experience in producing a variety of creative and digital content and with oversight from the Head of Marketing, the role-holder will be responsible for developing the online brand voice for all aspects of Bank's social and online presence. In addition, the role-holder will ensure that the bank builds brand awareness through online participation, moderation of consumer queries, social listening, cultivating leads and essentially being the overall custodian of executing an aligned content calendar in support of the corporate brand and product initiatives.Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)
Financial (15%)

  • Responsibility for supporting budget planning, control and expense management objectives by project
  • Manage the budgets for assigned areas and ensure adherence to Finance / Procurement processes and systems.
  • Measure ROI is measured, delivered and learnings captured to ensure continuous improvement and growth of the online community

Internal business processes (30%)

  • Communicate across the business as a champion of the company's digital marketing & social media guidelines, solidifying partnerships with business unit leaders to secure the online brand tone of voice and maintain brand integrity
  • Conceptualize and create visually stunning designs for a variety of mediums including digital platforms, print, marketing materials, and other promotional items.
  • Review and enhance all digital communication materials to ensure adherence and consistency to the overall Brand Positioning, Values and Identity Standards
  • Monitor and measure the success of community engagement (i.e. number of power users, number of discussions, etc.), and provide reports.
  • Develop engaging multimedia content, including animations and videos, to enhance the overall user experience and support marketing initiatives.
  • Apply marketing research and development methods to learn and understand emerging trends and technologies and to communicate this knowledge clearly and concisely
  • Analyse campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the Digital & Social Media campaigns.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of Digital & Social Media programs. Analyse, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
  • Proof-reading internal and external digital communications to ensure accuracy and adherence to brand standards
  • Ensure web-based information is archived for future needs and reference
  • Track and report on all website, intranet and social media metrics.
  • Track KPIs related to Social CRM goals such as leads, conversion, retention or outreach goals.
  • Create/manage the moderation and terms of use policies for the Bank.
  • Identify and report on community trends to internal teams and advise on potential opportunities or risks.
  • Evaluating and optimizing content for SEO

Customer (45%)

  • Development and take ownership of the content calendar of assigned Business Units- liaising with internal subject matter experts, product and business teams to develop and execute an integrated program of offline and online communications, writing; website content, social media posts, blogs, press releases and RNS announcements
  • Work with a cross-departmental team, maintain and develop the master content calendar for all web properties.
  • Create, develop and manage content for the organization's social and web presence. These content curation activities will require working with content management software.
  • Design, create and manage promotions and online ad campaigns
  • Work collaboratively with the creative and digital teams to develop multi-channel campaigns; building infographics, video and other multi-media content types.
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Media resource to develop and implement community promotion and engagement strategies and tactics as they relate to the MCC department and the organization's strategic goals.
  • Work collaboratively with MCC teams to ensure implementation of successfully coordinated communications campaigns.
  • Coordinate community postings as appropriate, across the organization's other digital channels.
  • Responsible for ensuring up to date content on all external and internal online and digital assets including but not limited to the website, intranet, you tube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
  • Maintain a consistent tone throughout all web properties including social media communication that upholds our brand tonality.
  • Keep current with emerging web technologies and social platforms through relevant blogs, listservs, and events.
  • Work with analytics to identify key consumer insights to strengthen the development and execution of campaigns in conjunction with the overall marketing campaign
  • Support cross-functional teams, both representing operations and businesses, to ensure full scope of brand integration is considered and included in the project plan. Must be able to mobilize a team of stakeholders to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with the MCC team to bring the approved marketing programs to life.
  • Champion additional projects to ensure the overall brand equity and awareness objectives for the Brand are achieved. These include bank-wide Marketing projects, Customer Experience initiatives, acquisition and retention programs, etc.
  • Monitor online discussions, responds in a timely fashion where appropriate (or ensures relevant responders are “nudged” to respond)
  • Alert Digital Marketing Manager and other appropriate staff as issues arise, and works with the staff to resolve any emerging issues.

Learning and growth (10%)

  • Continuous competence development
  • Continuous evaluation of all digital marketing activities (including campaign analysis, return on investment, social listening, etc.) - documenting learning's and ensuring they are factored in the development of subsequent initiatives
  • Train other staff on how to participate and engage in the online community.

Ideal Job Specifications
Academic:

  • University degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualification in Marketing would be an advantage.

Professional:

  • Proficiency in use of MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experienced digital marketing and communications background with intimate knowledge of consumer insights, both strongly preferred
  • Experience in dealing with 3rd party agencies - digital agency management is key
  • Proven ability to develop digital marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Up-to-date with latest trends and marketing best practices
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong administration and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage conflict well

Desired Work Experience:

  • 2-3 years' relevant experience - managing content and production and supported by a sound track record.
  • An excellent planner and organizer with working proficiency in Project Management skills
