EY-GDS Business Consulting -SC&O – Staff Consultant – Network Design
EY GDS Business Consulting, one of the fastest-growing service lines in EY GDS Client Service, provides Technical & Business Consulting services. You will work with global professionals to solve some of the toughest challenges faced by clients. As part of our EY GDS - SC&O team, you will help clients to assess their supply chain processes, evaluate & develop the supply chain transformation strategies and optimize the various supply chain processes using the proven EY approach.
The Opportunity:
We’re looking for the Staff with the basic understanding of Supply Chain Consulting/Analytics/ Logistics/ Greenfield Analysis /Network Optimization & Simulation/ Baseline Modelling / Supply Chain Design etc.to join the Logistics Consulting group of our EY-GDS SC&O Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a new service offering. The consultants are expected to work on supply chain/logistics engagements for our clients globally.
Your key responsibilities:
- At least 0-3 years within the relevant domain of supply chain network strategy across industries and work experience providing solutions in a commercial setting.
- You will assist clients in analyzing and optimizing the supply chain network to promote efficiency and cost reduction.
- You will contribute to the development of new solution assets and sector-related logistics/analytics products.
Primary roles will be (but not limited to):
- Supply Chain Understanding & Strategy Design:
- Support the evaluation of the existing supply chain network and contribute to identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist in designing supply chain networks and develop strategies under the guidance of senior personnel.
- Perform scenario planning & predictive analysis, giving meaningful linkage to decision-making for execution.
- Modelling & Testing:
- Participate in using software to simulate and test proposed supply chain network models and learn to analyze cost-benefit outcomes.
- Communication & Reporting:
- Coordinate with various teams internally to understand requirements and provide progress updates as directed.
- Assist in preparing detailed reports on implemented strategies, analysis findings, and recommendations.
- Learn to ensure that all solutions proposed comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Forecasting & Inventory Management:
- Forecast demand trends and ensure that supply chain networks can meet these demands while maintaining optimal inventory management.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Create visualizations of KPIs & alerts using any tool.
- Track, report, and analyze key performance indicators of client supply chains.
- Training & Implementation:
- Develop training materials and implementation guides for clients to facilitate transition to new supply chain structures.
- Support the team with running multiple scenarios as per the requirement.
- Maintain the database in a hygienic manner supported with strong queries ensuring reliability and repeatability.General skills to have:
- Good to have a basic knowledge of R/Python, SQL, Excel, any BI tool (Tableau/Qlikview/Power BI/Alteryx).
- Keen to work in projects with cross-functional and cross-country stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate insights.
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations for clients and management is an essential part of the role.
- Consulting experience will be considered a plus.
- Effective communication skills and experience in the client-facing role are required.
Qualifications
- MBA (Supply Chain/ Operations) from Tier-1/2 institutes with 0-2 years of relevant business/consulting experience in logistics function is crucial.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in greenfield analysis, network optimization and design consulting.
- Basic to mdoerate understanding of Coupa (LLamasoft) supply chain guru, AIMMS, Anylogistix, and other relevant network optimization tools.
- Basic to moderate understanding of network optimization technologies.
- Familiarity with various WMS/TMS solutions such as SAP EWM/TM, Manhattan WMOS/TMS, Blue Yonder WMS/TMS, Oracle WMS/TMS, etc.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
- Project management experience is a plus.
