General Summary:

The Associate, Operational Compliance and Credit Reporting will perform testing and monitoring to ensure that HCA’s processes and controls adhere to published Policies and Procedures and are compliant with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. The Associate, Operational Compliance and Credit Reporting will assist with risk assessments, remediation action plan tracking, provide ACL data and testing support, and development of compliance assessments in collaboration with management. The Associate, Operational Compliance and Credit Reporting will also serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on credit reporting and provide compliance advice to the Credit Furnishing Team to ensure they stay abreast of credit reporting standards and regulatory changes that impact HCA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the Compliance SME on Credit Reporting, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Metro2 Credit Reporting Resource guide (CRRG). Accountable for collaborating with the Credit Furnishing Team to monitor regulatory updates, assess impacts of system or process changes to Credit Reporting, and support examination data requests or credit reporting related special projects.

2. Responsible for the planning, scoping, and execution of ACL testing by providing monthly testing data and ensuring data integrity through regular validation of ACL script output, analyzing data, and reporting on current Operational performance, trends and opportunities for improvement.

3. Conduct second line testing & monitoring of Direct and Indirect Credit dispute process handling, including reviewing of policy, procedure and systems to ensure compliance with applicable FCRA laws. Complete regular reviews of HCA’s Metro 2 credit reporting files and EvaluData Monthly exception report, by testing the accuracy of the data submitted to the Credit Reporting Agencies. Compliance Reviews covering emerging compliance risk topics as well as assist with the development, tracking, and completion of remediation action plans.

4. Complete additional compliance assessments as assigned, draft initial testing results, monthly remediation plans, and provide compliance recommendations as deemed necessary for remediation to Operations leadership on recommended remediation actions.

5. Collaborate with Compliance management to develop new assessments identified based on observations from prior testing activities, federal and state examination findings, regulatory changes, compliance review findings and CFPB enforcement actions.

6. Assist with examination file review, regulatory investigations and preparation, as needed.

7. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate in detail regarding deviations from Policy and Procedure
  • Thorough understanding of Consumer Financial Lending Services, including Collections, Servicing and Credit and Underwriting processes
  • Strong understanding of consumer protection regulations related to consumer lending, including but not limited to, ECOA, FCRA, FDCPA, TILA and GLBA
  • Disciplined approach toward reviewing business process and procedure and recording observations in a consistent, verifiable format
  • Able to work in a team environment, strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to research and address issues timely and flexibly under short deadlines
  • Ability to work quickly, independently, and accurately with complex subject matter
  • Knowledge of Metro II credit reporting, FCRA, credit dispute handling and CRRG requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience within Financial Services/Consumer Lending Services (Collections, Customer Service, Consumer Credit or Funding)
  • Previous Compliance experience highly preferred
  • Previous experience with Metro 2 and development of testing and monitoring assessments is highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, finance, business or a related field required

Physical Requirements and Working Condition:
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
