Request for Proposals – Service Notice
Nutrition International (NI) is a global nutrition organization headquartered in Canada, dedicated since its establishment in 1992 to implementing effective nutrition interventions worldwide. Since 2000, NI has been actively engaged in Pakistan, collaborating closely with national and provincial governments on large-scale nutrition initiatives aimed at combating hidden hunger and promoting health. NI's work in Pakistan focuses on enhancing the intake of essential micronutrients among the population, particularly targeting adolescent girls and women of reproductive age.
NI supports the production and institutionalization of fortified wheat flour with iron, folic acid, zinc, and vitamin B12, crucial for addressing widespread deficiencies in these nutrients. This initiative is part of NI's efforts to empower adolescent girls through programs like the Taleemi Wazaif Program under BISP, promoting nutrition education and behavioral change.
By working closely with government departments such as the Department of Education, Department of Health, and local BISP officials, NI aims to create sustainable improvements in nutrition and food systems at the community level. Through these collaborative efforts, NI continues to advance its mission of eradicating hidden hunger and nourishing lives in Pakistan, leveraging fortified wheat flour as a cornerstone for improving health outcomes among vulnerable populations.
